Craigslist SUX...kinda!

Why does it sux? Well I thought I was all set with my tool collection. Had pretty much everything I needed to do the kind of work I do in my shop. BUT, my toolbox was completely filled. I couldn't fit anything else in it, and often the doors would get stuck closed because they were overfilled.

So following my rule of never buy anything new...I have been looking for a new (used) toolbox.

Here is what I found. It is a MAC, and it was only $500. Now for the problem. I now realize I don't have enough tools! :lol_hitti

Here's the pic compared to my old one, and my "helper" who has a new toolbox now!

Judging from the size difference of those two boxes you are going to have to buy a lot of tools for a very long time to outgrow the new box! BTW: Great price on the new box ther **** boy!

In the last 6 month or so I have had great luck with Craigslist.

Hobart Beta-Mig 200 $250 (works awesome)
Hypertherm PowerMax 600 plasma cutter $400
Shop Crane $FREE
48" Commercial walk-behind mower $300
2 Place galvanized snowmobile trailer $50

I have also sold a bunch of stuff too, it's be great. The best thing is the ads are free and the viewing audience is local, unlike eBay.

Well I had shevles and benches and peg board full of tools that wouldn't fit, but I have to admit, I probably have 6 drawers with nothing in them.

I feel badly on some of these purchases. I know times are tough for a lot of people. But they advertised it, and if I didn't buy someone else would have. The sellers are usually happy to get the money to pay off a bill, even though they know they are losing money on what they are selling.

Now I am on the search for some sets of used tools. I worked out in the shop this afternoon and spend more time opening drawers than working. I have had that old box since high school and I knew where every single thing was. Now I have to play the "find-it" game!

Actually the guy he bought it from probably stole it!

Think it's paid for?? :headscrat

If it was newer I might be concerned. I don't think someone could still owe money on a box this old? He made the ad pretty public. Shop he was at, phone number, and seemed like a decent guy when I met him. I doubt it was stolen.
