Finally, after god knows how many years I've waited for a deal to come up at the right time. $1240 Canadian Loonies delivered to my door by who else, but a Matco franchisee . Yes, I overpaid by $240 but that was in hopes that he wouldn't sell it to someone else, still I think the grand total is reasonable.

Doesn't lock however, but I have my hopes up it's just the lockbar or something, will have to take the drawers out. And the right trim piece is missing - will the KRL722 trim fit? Also, there are some hints of rust at the lower edge, but it's solid everywhere else just a bit dusty.

What do you guys think? Should be a nice upgrade from my vintage SO top chest .

Did alright, should cleanup with some effort, superlube those slides and enjoy, nice thing about SO boxes are that parts are available, unlike other brands

Well, figured out why it wasn't locking (as if the three ground away spots on the back panel didn't give it away) - previous owner apparently wanted to prevent the box from getting accidentally locked and put in self tapping screws in each of the three lockbars to hold them in the unlocked positon . Unscrewed them and the bars slide again - only problem is that the mechanism isn't connected to the bars, will have to take the entire thing apart.

It sounds like the more likely possibility, is that the mechanism connected to the bars broke somehow - allowing the locking bars to free fall into locked position? so he put the screws in to prevent that? I dunno. Wierd. Hopefully you can get in there to fix the problem.

****, had a reply all typed out but it didn't show up lol. For some reason the lock cylinder was installed backwards (well oriented wrong), I simply undid the nut, and rotated 180 degrees until it actuated the linkage arm correctly. No cost fixes are the best .

To anyone that cares, here's how I removed the slides:

1) Extend fully (pull the drawers out until it hits the stops).
2) Take note of the grey plastic levers on the slides, flick them up/down depending on the Left or Right slide. After doing so, pull the drawer out completely (you may want someone to help you with wider/deeper drawers).
3) To take the bearing member off of the cabinet, take a plastic trim tool and wedge the member out from the top at the circled location - there is a detent on the member which clicks into a slot on the cabinet.
4) Take a deadblow/mallet and rap the slide from the bottom sharply, or use a prybar if there is an adjacent slide on the bottom and pry the member loose.
5) To take the slide member off of the drawers, take your trim tool and wedge it from the bottom this time (at the same location as step 3, use a mallet to drive it in if necessary). Take your deadblow and give the top of the slide a sharp rap and it should come off.​

For the record, PN#8-27039A (rigid) and PN#8-26939A (swivelling) will bolt right up to the KRL761 (and KRL722) as there are two sizes of caster mounts predrilled and inserts installed from the factory. Nice upgrade to the stock casters!

Got all the slides cleaned and blown out as well as coin washed the drawers, just need to clean up the chassis and we're GTG!

I warrantied them haha, the old ones wouldn't lock anymore and SO sent me these as a replacement. So free casters .

TV just blew up lol. Figured I'd throw on a silly price and see if anyone would bite, priorities lol. TBH, I'd much rather grab one of the SPG SHD boxes off of Costco.
