I just received an email from another forum that I sometimes frequent telling me about the upcoming auction of all of Crane Cams assets right down to the raw materials. This is the auction service that is handeling the sale. It is interesting to see the wide variety of machinery and materials that will go on the block.

Sad, another icon of my misspent youth goes away. Back in the 60's, Crame Cams were the hot set-up. Crane was the designated cam grinder for Ford Racing. Thumb thru a magazine from back then and a Crane Cams decal adorned the fender of every Mustang & Comet drag car, as well as Ford's entries in NASCAR, Indy and LeMans. Crane was every bit as hot then as Comp Cams are now. vssjim's right, Crane won't be the last. Even if the economy sorts itself out, the Green push might keep the onus on performance cars & parts for who knows how long, maybe for good.
