Elroy has no intentions of turning this into a political debate but this gas can rule is a prime example of government over reach.

Just what the hells' business is it of the government to get involved in a simple gas can. :dunno:

Just one more example of why this country is going broke. Big brother needs to pay attention to the real problems and keep their damn hands off Elroy's gas can.

end of rant...........:willy_nil

I agree!

The link below states, fits older model Blitz cans. The newer ones have a different thread and I don't think these are compatable with the new Blitz 'spill proof' cans.
Does anybody know of just a screw on lid that would fit these cans?

These new cans are absolutely pathetic. I am sure the EPA folks have there hands in Blitz pockets somehow. This government outreach is absurd. I am ready for a revolution.

this site sells the spout that retro fits to your old cans.. awesome!!!

Im thinking of buying 3 of them!!!

I know a few years ago, Blitz had to make a frivilous hand out to a local family. They sued Blitz when their 9 year old was playing with freinds and trying to light gasoline. Guess what ? Play with fire . . . .

It was right after this lawsuit, Blitz changed their design to this new "Spill Proof" ****. My personal opinion is that was part of the reasoning for the change.

Kind of a side track, but...

There is Red for gasoline, Blue for Kerosene and Yellow for Diesel.

Why has their been no color designated for 2 Stroke mix? I don't use Kerosene so I bought a Blue Kerosene can and took a marker and wrote 2 stroke on it.

I just never understood with all the 2 stroke engines running around, why didn't they get their own color of fuel can? Wish they did.

Maybe you should email Blitz and ask them, maybe you're on to something.

How about green.

Interesting idea. But then we might need to distinguish it further into air cooled and water cooled 2-stroke mixes, too.

The No-Spill cans with the white view stripe is my "standard" for 2-stroke mix. Since 2-stroke mix is still mostly gasoline, I like keeping the red color.

Because gasoline is gasoline. The color coding is for safety purposes, and has nothing to do with your personal convenience because you cannot remember what is in what can. 2-stroke mix GOES IN A RED CAN.

I will say that my more recent Blitz cans came with a neck tag, that says gasoline on one side, and mix on the other, with a place for you to write in the ratio.

The No-Spill cans can be problematic. The various parts of the nozzle assembly have had a tendency to crack and just fall apart. My last warranty claim I recieved the newer style as is in the picture above and was informed I'm out of warranty claims and I've noticed that they've reduced their warranty to 3 years. The original was lifetime and I've used it at least once a year, but constant and consistent failures don't make it worthwhile in my book. I sure wish it were easier to get the sceptre military cans without travelling to Canada.
