I have a set of the USA ones I abused for several years outside, in the rain and snow. I just squirt wd40 in the mechanism every year or so and never gave me problems.I thought they were great.

I have 11 metric craftsman industrial reversible and now 8 of the standard. with one more metric on order. they are whe same as the older USA ones.

I had the made in China lobster claws but I sold them to get the industrial.

I've had this set for about 4? years. I love them. I left one little one out in the weather for a little while and the mechanism rusted; pb blaster followed by lubricant and no worries. Great tools. I paid $89 on sale.

I have both full sets of reversible in both std. and metric and use the hell out of them.

They are the USA stamped ones. The current new stock is made in Taiwan so you kind of have to do an apples to apples comparion for warranty and COO if looking at other brands these days thabnks to the change in Sears sourcing suppliers.

Good part about the C'mans is that they have a full line offereing in all sizes for both sets with no skipping or missing/unavailable wrenches in between. Big bonus.

Compare prices and other brands and see what you find.

I also have the USA ones (not the lobster claws linked above). They are awfully nice to use and very well finished. They seem to be VERY similar in action to Gearwrench. Anyone know who made the reversible combos for Craftsman before they went to the lobster claws?

I had the reversing ones as well. Ended up returning them and getting the Gearwrench flexing ratcheting wrenches. More versatile and killed two birds with one stone.

Don't be this guy

Aren't the Craftsman lobster-claw ratcheting wrenches made in China, not Taiwan? I would prefer they were Taiwanese, but I don't think they are.

EDIT - lots of reviews on the Sears website say they're made in China.

Yup, they're China, not Taiwan.

I have had the USA made SAE and Metric 8 piece sets for about 6 years now. They've NEVER given me a problem, have been absolutely wonderful to use, and they've been used TONS. They're literally my go-to wrenches.

I have a set of USA reversibles and a set of China long pattern non reversibles, Both work well with no issues.

The "Lobster Claw" is not unique to the made in China wrenches. My made in the USA cross force wrenches have this as well. I have not experienced any issues using them.

I picked up that set in the pre-Black Friday sale. They are Chinese made, and the "lobster claw" open end limits some of their access in tight places and looks weird, too. I'm not sure if that prevents them from opening as much as other wrenches I've used. I haven't used them at all, but one thing I noticed is the ratcheting mechanism is pretty inconsistent from wrench to wrench. There is no correlation to large/small sizes at all.

Lifetime warranty though, right?

My bad. I could have SWORN the reversable ratcheting combo wrenches were Taiwan and the non-reversible (flip over to change direction) were China.

My apologies if I incorrectly stated the wrong COO.
