Creating a Home Network from Tether?

My internet access is from my tethered Android phone (Unlimited data old Verizon plan).
It is not a Verizon hotspot, but a tether app.
I tether a laptop, IPad and smart TV.

Is there a way to use this to create a wired and or wireless network for the house and garage/shop?

Some wireless routers allow dual wan mode with USB..... if your tether app works with usb cable to your phone you might be able to use the routers USB port as WAN side of the router for connection.

something like the Asus RT-N66U have that option.
The other option is to tether the connection to a PC, then run a gateway / router software use that as a router for internet....

Use a PC connected to the phone, then use internet connection sharing (comes with windows and mac os), then connect everything through a switch or router to the PC's Ethernet port... Or use a router capable of being used as a wireless Ethernet bridge.

Either one of those options will give you a wired LAN that uses the phone for the internet connection.

Be interested to see out this turns out for you. Got friend in smaller rural town and his internet provider gave up the ghost. He's tried DISH TV's internet service but it's pretty wimpy. Verizon may have tower that gives decent signal to his area to tether from a cell phone, or better yet Sprint is offering 1/2 price of whatever either AT&T or Verizon was charging and healthy data plan.

Post up details once you get into the meat of it !!

On our Sprint plan tethering costs extra, it is not part of our data plan

So you want a wired and wireless network using your phone, ok...

Wireless - doesn't your phone already do this? If you want to extend the range, get a repeater.

Wired - you can use a wireless router to create a bridge. It will connect to your phone wirelessly and share the internet connection to any of the LAN (wired) connected devices.
