So, I was wanting to create an APP for bidding work for my mobile business using my smartphone and was wondering if there was anyone here that has made one before. I've already seen a bunch of videos on the process and talked to businesses that want a few thousand dollars to do it for me. I just want a simple flat rate calculator... I've already created the database, but just need to put it in APP form,. It's only $99, with Apple to get the developer licensing package... Anyone have any experience with this, my questions are- 1. Can I create it using my iPad? 2. If not, then do I have to have an Apple Computer? I love my iPhone and iPad, but in general, I "f''ing" hate Apple computers. I hope everyone is have a good day! Thanks!

To run xCode the program that compiles the code into an actual app you do need a Mac computer.

Have you looked into using Quickbook's app at all? Its pretty full featured and is way way easier than learning to code your own app.

I bought a book on building I phone apps and about the second paragraph said, "Requires Intel based Mac Computer".. So Gave the book to an Apple friend of mine.

I'm knowledgeable on all windows, and most Linux OS and some of the Mac OS's, but I cannot stand Apple OS. My in laws won't touch anything that's not apple. Kinda like a cult to me... But whatever... I may check into the virtual Mac option and the quick books thing. I'm creating a locksmith flat rate calculator, where the user sets his hourly and tax rate and clicks on the tasks completed and then everything can be totaled and already calculated. I'm already doing this with spreadsheets but it's harder to sort the tasks... I'm hoping to make it available on App Store for a small price. If I get good at making the APP, I plan on make some others... The App creator package from Apple is $99 a yr. I was hoping to be able to create the app on my iPad or windows PC then have my in laws submit it if need be. I just want as little as possible to do with them or apple OS. I sent the same question to the APPLE Support and have yet to hear back from them. Thanks everyone.
