When I built my house/garage I had them install standard light fixtures in my garage. They installed 75w bulbs in them I upgraded to 100w bulbs right away. A couple of months ago I installed some Feit 100w bulbs that are 3000K color. They are great but they buzz and it is annoying when you are in the garage for awhile. I am looking at getting some Cree A21 led 100w bulbs to replace the Feit ones. I have two questions. 1. do these buzz when one? 2. should I get the soft white 2700K or the daylight bulbs 5000K.

No buzzing from my Cree's. I was not happy with the few Feit's I tried.
I have over 55% Cree LED bulbs in my house now. (Over 100 bulbs total!)

Good to hear. I plan on buying the Cree bulbs but now have to figure out if I want the 2700K or 5000K bulbs. Would the 5000K bulbs be too bright/blue looking?

Well I remembered I bought a 100W 5000k bulb a year ago and put it outside. So I went out and got it and put it in the garage and it was too blue of a color so I will be getting the Cree 100W 2700K bulbs. I think it will be fine because I will have a total of 7 or 8 of these in a 3.5 car garage.

I know some will say to put flourescent bulb fixtures in but I don't want to spend the $ on them and I don't really need them.

I put two Cree daylight white , they are blue, but not horrible. Two 100watters in a dark dingy garage really helped. ***** they are 20 bucks A pop

I like 5000k for outdoor lighting, adds a bit of a modern touch. For indoor spaces I think they look pretty awful, 2700k feels much more natural.

For my 3 car garage, which is used for mostly parking and a little work, I installed the standard base 300 watt fluorescent spiral bulbs in the 3 existing keyless fixtures. $18/bulb is a little high, but when you don't have to buy or install a fixture it is not too bad.
Up until last year it was my work space and was lit pretty well.

I don't hear any buzzing from my 100 watt Feit from Lowes. The 3000K soft white definitely helps for us older guys. The Cree I have in the dining from are only 2700K.

I do not like the 5000k bulbs anywhere. It's not natural. Use 2700k.

I have experience with Cree 100 watt equivalents. It's not good. They fail a lot. I lose them after about a year. The Cree 60 watt bulbs are far superior in terms of life, I don't think I've lost any of those after 5 years or so of using them.

You can buy them but don't be surprised when they don't turn on after a year and at 20$ each it's a tough pill to swallow.

Perhaps keep your receipts? The crees do not buzz and light quality is excellent.

I have only Cree LED lightbulbs in my house. 4 foot flourecent tubes in the garage because I had about 50 fixtures and tube on hand. For the Cree bulbs most are 60 or 75 Watt equivalent or whatever size they make, I forget. Some are 100 Watt. Most are Soft. I use Daylight only in closets, pantry, laundry room, basement storage space. It took me about 3 years to phase all other bulbs out. I've never had a Cree burn out.

I put three 100w Cree LED 5000k bulbs in our bathroom in the house for the wife as she wanted it bright and bright they are for a while. The first quit working after 3 months and the second just last week. So much for the 10 year warrantee. I'll see how long the third lasts. Went back to cfl's in that location for the ones that quit. I did save the receipt and the proof of purchase panels so I think I am covered there.

I use 6500k 400W equivalent (105W actual) compact fluorescent bulbs in my shop. I only use 6500k in the shop. It makes all the difference to me. Soft white is for home, in my opinion.

Home Depot has sale right now on 60w equivalent Phillips LED bulbs, A19 size though.

I personally run recessed can LED's. No buzzing. Do you have your lights on dimmers?
