Anybody have a good recommendation for a creeper seat for <$50? My $20 special has been cobbled back together too many times to save again.

There are plenty out there to choose from, depending on the style you are searching for. Lots of guys often prefer to design and create their own special creeper seat just to be different. I once used a 1939 Ford transmission case and cover by putting a padded seat on top and casters into the bell housing end. Had it for decades but lost it during a move to another location.

You want a mechanic's seat or a creeper? Sitting on the ground or laying on the ground? Also how heavy are you?

I don't personally care for creepers at all but if you are meaning a rolling mechanic seat, after trying several designs, I settled on a nice used office chair with the back and arms removed...better quality hydraulic cylinder, more comfortable and larger seat, and wider stance for the wheels...use it all the time under the lift. bonus is they can be had cheap or free if you look on trash day...
