creeper seats

I had knee surgery 4 week ago so I am just starting to look for creeper seats. I need some thoughts. Who has them and what brands are liked or hated? I was looking at The Tail Bone Rough Rider. Does any one know anything about it?

PS I need sone thing sturdy I am a Big Guy. I dont want somthing cheep that will break after sitting on it once or twice.

I bought some heavy duty casters from Harbor Freight because they were DIRT CHEAP. I had no clue what I was going to do with them. Then, about three years ago I decided to make this creeper thing. It might be the handiest device I have ever built. I use it to creep around the garage. It is REALLY useful when I am cleaning the Sportster!

As the picture shows, it was easy to make.

How 'bout fabricating your own. Start with a tractor seat or riding mower seat. Do like seal killer and use good casters too.

Don't spend half a day using a Coleman cooler for a shop seat like I did today. Not comfortable.

i have 2 old office chairs and they beat the **** out of those creeper seats, good wheels, made of metal, padded seat, has a back and they cost a whole $1 each at an auction

I use this one. A little pricey but sturdy and goes up and down like an office chair.

I used a pneumatic stool a while back at a friends place, and it sure was nice to be able to adjust your height while working on different things. It sure beats my non adjustable rolling stool that I scoot around my place in.

Just used a Cornwell Tools Seat Creeper at my soon to be son in laws today to help him install a 4" body lift on his 2006 Chevy Colorado. Seemed to be pretty comfortable, to me, reminds me of a Snapper Comet seat on wheels. Just my $ .02

I've got the Tailbone and a standard NAPA seat. Much prefer the Tailbone, and everyone that comes in the shop uses the Tailbone and won't even look at the NAPA. For an adjustable height seat I use an old office chair with the back removed.

Get one that adjusts up & down. Spend the money. I didn't & the casters lasted about 3 months. I have since replaced them & use the seat all of the time.

Pet peeve for me is the small casters on everything. SnapOn is usually better about putting larger casters in. I wind up pulling the casters on a lot of toolboxes/creepers and putting bigger ones in. For the under car creeper I think I'm going to have to make some sort of new frame that goes out to the sides and up so the creeper is low enough for me to get my gut under the vehicles...

I've got one of the Craftsman style above and one of the cheap round ones. The Craftsman type is comfortable, but it often doesn't go as low as I would like and is a bit unwieldy. In those cases I use the cheap one.

I use a Snap-On seat but it doesn't go low enough when it's low anymore since I changed the spider base out for a welded one. I just ordered Kobalt's new hexagon-shaped blue seat, I liked the look of it in the catalog.
