Got my Epsteins order in and order a pair of 9 inch Crescent USA Linemans Pliers. The quality control in the tip seems way under par. Just want to get your opinions on if the tip is ok the way it is or compromised. I guess I could possibly contact Jori perhaps based on what everyone thinks I should do. All feedback is greatly appreciated.

Just to make the point one more time here.......COO is not an indication of quality level. You could have saved yourself some trouble and just bought a pair of new Channellock Linemans from a big-box store or local hardware store.

I realize your point but my main objective was to give the business to Epsteins and not Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I guess I could have gotten the Channellocks from Epsteins but assumed that the Crescents would be good.

for me they are kind of borderline.. not nice enough to be really happy but not bad enough to go through the hassle of returning them.

I will give you a virtual pat on the back and wish you good cheer for supporting small businesses

Best bet - send them back the Epstiens and have them exchange them for the Channellock equivelent. I think Channellock makes a much better more durable Linemans plier than Klien does. Good luck.

Personally I would return the Cresents and replace them with Channellocks. I have used both brands over 35 years as an electrician and the Channellocks win hands down. All the best..........

Yeah I am just wondering if functionally they would be ok.

Looks to me like the cross hatched teeth on those Crescents are not very agressive, at least from the picture, seem worn or not cut sharply in. If they are sharp and grip and hold wire firmly then there may not be an issue. Linemans are made for pulling, twisting, and cutting wires. They can't do that job very efficiently if their cross hatches teeth don't bite in well.

Test those and see. Otherwise I'd take the advice that myself and 1/2 Cup have given you. I've used Channellock pliers for 50+ years and never been disappointed in them. I own just about every different plier they make. They are top shelf tools.

Another vote for Channellock. I have the 369 and the 369crft. Most of my other pliers are Channellock. The crft are awesome. They have a cutter, crimper, fish tape puller and more. Return those and get the Channellock, you will not regret it

I think the workers in the plant knew they were being outsourced to shanghai & said the heck with it.. I know if I knew I was being let go at some point I'd be chilling out more at work. Maybe even borrowing a few items for a fire sale..lots of cool tools and stuff around.

What I'm seeing in the picture is the jaws aren't serrated all the way. That wouldn't pass muster for me. Nope. :headshake
