I was picking up some parts at a local store lately and stumbled upon this 3/8 Cresent ratchet for $18. It is a fine tooth ratchet but didnt have a description and i didnt bother to count the teeth. Does anybody have one of these ratchets? I was interested in buying one but was a little leary about it becoause it says ''Taiwan'' on it. I like this style of ratchet and dont really need it but it would be nice to have an extra or if this one is good I could use it all the time. What do you guys think?

oops, the one hiball posted is not a big dawg but still a good ratchet, just a little course. a big dawg will have a p at the end of the model number. someone also has some of the red hard handle big dawg rats for sale on the bay, those are sweet.

You should be interested in not wasting $18 dollars on a junk ratchet. These guys were trying to show you a much better ratchet for the same amount of money.

If you are set on that ratchet go to harbor freight and buy the same ratchet for like $3.

Agreed... If your against buying a quality US made ratchet, Just go to HF and pick up one of there fine tooth ratchets. There are numerous threads here concerning them, Not only are they cheaper, They have a lifetime warranty via HF. I have no personal experience with there ratchets but i can vouch for the Proto's, Hence the link. Good LUCK

I'm not saying i dont like proto's i was just wondering about the cresent ratchet. If it is junk than i wont buy it i just like that style handle and the proto you suggested didnt have that handle. I'll stick with my trusty Crafstman and my old snappy for now.

It's typical good quality Tiawan ratchet. It will do the job but I don't think I'd go 18 dollars for a Tiawan ratchet. It's not Junk though

I have one, I don't use it much. I don't know if mine has a coo on it or not. Not a bad
Unit but you could do better for the money. I got mine for free. I would get one of the
New style protos they are really nice.
