I'm looking to buy a crimping die to install some coax ends on cable for a HAM radio antenna lead.
I own the Tool Aid 18960
The die I need to use fits this crimping tool.
I called the company that sells it, but they don't know who makes the tool.
Any ideas who makes it, and any chance I could buy the die and it would fit my tool? It would save me a chunk of cash.

From what I've seen, all of those crimper frames can take everyone else's dies. I've mixed and matched dies and frames from a number of sources with no issues.

I believe that is true for the other dies that company offers, take a look at the part that slides in the jaws of the tool on the DX page. There are two different sizes, look at the length, the one he indicated is longer than than this one which is identical to the ones in the tray of the Tool Aid tray he has shown.

This die has a different shape and appears longer. All the crimping tools have the jaws extending straight out from the handles, the pliers indicated for this die is angled downward.

Just my opinion based upon looking at this, I did yesterday and noticed the difference but did not post my opinion then.

So some years back I picked up a set of Ideal Crimpmasters someone had a sticker on for like $5. I threw it in a box with the thought that I might need it one day knowing what they cost. Well, this past week I ordered up a set of jaws from Amazon that dropped right in. I just used them to make a perfect crimp on PL-259 on the opposite end of my NMO mount on the new Tacoma. Some jaws have a ridge around the outside edge and some do not. Not sure if they would have both worked out or not. The jaws that I ordered had the ridge and they dropped right in. Just some food for thought.

Best part is you can send anything back to Amazon if it doesn’t work out. Not to mention the price isn’t that bad. My connectors turned out great. I sacrificed one for practice and the second one was the real deal. No issues at all. Perfect crimp.
