I just watched a couple tool repair videos on “caveman style”you tube channel.
I’m not a perfectionist by any stretch of the imagination, but this guy had me yelling at the TV.
Some of the things included:
Using a vise that wasn’t bolted to the workbench
“Fixing” a loose hammer handle by driviving the head further onto the handle and driving a bunch of wedges into it, then spraying we-40 on the whole handle
Replacing a Milwaukee quick lok cord with a standard cord from a Dewalt drill the strain relief held in with gorilla tape.
Using **** splice crimp connectors to join wires in a bundle
A general lack of knowledge on troubleshooting and repair- replaces a brush card on a Milwaukee impact driver by soldering in a splice to the existing wires on the tabs instead of desoldering the wires and soldering the leads from the brush card directly to the tabs themselves( he ends up with wires that are too long and won’t get back in the housing correctly.)
There are some great tool repair videos out there but this guys just scary!
Please give him a watch and let me know what you think.
