SHHHH....Don't tell anyone.

Everytime someone posts about Cripe, the selection goes down and the prices go up. If you must post about Cripe, ***** about their shipping charges.

When your tools arrive, say they came from ebay.:bounce::beer:

Thanks to them, I have a 20-32mm set of KD combo wrenches. The only gripe I have, is they charged me $27 for priority shipping, but threw them haphazardly into a medium flat rate box for about $11.

When is the last time any of you actually visited their website? (not ebay store)

They have hardly anything anymore. Before they had tons of wrenches. Seems to be at this current moment, there is a little bit of junk and that is about it.

(never mind, it appears they are totally reformatting the site and have stuff hidden in all kinds of different categories and no stock quantities listed)

Yea..their 'new' website leaves much to be desired... It's almost like they took a step back, can't find a damn thing anymore.

YMMV at Cripe. They have a good deal on some tools from time to time. However their shipping is too damn expensive. I suggest using Epstein as an alternative.

Their shipping is ridiculous. I had about $43 of items to purchase, $26 in shipping! Geesh, I'll look elsewhere...

Dealt with them on eBay, was not impressed in the least with how they communicate with customers or their shipping charges. I'll pass on being ripped off, thanks.

Been on the website about 10 times, and about 10 times I closed the window after the shipping charges killed any enthusiasm I had about a particular deal

You guys who had shipping issues, did you email for a combined quote? I've never had an issue with shipping, but have never placed an order without asking them to combine.

For example, I paid 16 bucks for all this to VT....shipping was 90 something until I emailed them for combined.

Dealt with them once via ebay. It was OK. A good deal really. Bought a few things together so the shipping while not cheap wasn't a deal breaker.

Their onsie twosie stuff I avoid due to shipping costs.

Oh look, it's another bash on Cripe's shipping charges thread.

Seriously though, these guys would sell me a ton more small stuff if their shipping charges weren't quite so steep on individual items.

I can see having to deal with combined shipping on ebay purchases, but not from the website.

It's all good. You guys staying away leaves more stuff for me.:bounce:

Seriously though, they should offer free shipping on orders over $100 but, that's just me.

Ordered from them once. Prices were good, shipping was fast and the items were as described.

Probably won't order from them again though, since shipping was WAY too high.

I don't know why you guys are complaining about shipping charges.

I order via telephone and ask if they will send the stuff the cheapest way possible.

Last two orders got to my doorstep for a grand total of $9 for both.

Maybe they charge extra for web orders

Make my order via telephone? Again, what year are we living in? I have never made an order on the phone in my life. If Cripe can't get their act together on building a website that calculates shipping correctly, I won't buy.

It's also quite dishonest to blatantly overcharge for shipping, pocket the difference, then blame a technical issue.

Where have they done that? I have never heard of them to NOT offer combined shipping.
You may not like their policies or way of doing business, but don't accuse them of ripping people off if you are "above" calling or emailing for combined shipping.

There are over 101,000 transactions on Ebay that would disagree with you.....

Probably not, but that's my point. I have not experienced any other site where you have to take extra steps to get a reasonable shipping quote.

It does ****, but when you order a bunch of stuff and take the time it's worth it. I always watch and wait on a bunch of stuff on Ebay, then bunch everything in one order. Ordering small amounts is not worth it at all from them. Don't think I've bothered with the website in quite some time.

I've canceled 7 or 8 orders after getting a ridiculously high shipping quote at checkout from their website. :Toilet:

If they would get their shipping in line with the rest of the etailers(they give the highest shipping quotes by far) they would undoubtedly sell a lot more stuff. :dunno:

Recently got a dewalt hole saw kit...that an absurdly low price (at least..in Toronto, it's more than double the price that they are selling it at)...and shipping wasn't a hassle...in fact it was free.

Is there a guaranteed means of recalculating combined shipping charges on eBay? By that I mean every time I've done it I've had the seller refund some $$ to my paypal account. They didn't *have* to do it however.

My worry is you buy the stuff, ask Cripe (or another vendor) to combine shipping and they say sorry, no. What's your recourse then, besides a dispute with eBay which you might well lose, since you purchased knowing the listed shipping charges?

All that said, I see on eBay that Cripe has a 5pc set of Gearwrench Xtra long X-beam ratcheting wrenches for $18, plus $6 shipping. That doesn't seem unreasonable?

I've placed several orders from them on thier site and on ebay. Each time the combined shipping $$ was not unreasonable. Sometimes the shipping is slow, but I can deal with that. I know things get busy and all and I don't need anything in a hurry, so it doesn't bother me.
I ordered a wrench set reccently and one was missing. I emailed them, they got back to me and sent it out. No problems. Until I encounter a problem, I'll keep using them.
As for the website, well it took some getting used to, but I've found it to be ok.

i just placed a decent sized order with them, shipping wasnt bad at all, 16 or so.

thanks to their new site though i had trouble. it was super slow and pages werent loading at all. after filling out my info and submitting the order it brought me back to the cart, showed that two items were out of stock, i swapped them and re ordered.

got a call today, from cripes, the woman was nice and wanted to know if i meant to order multiple times. went through all 25 items with me over the phone and removed the duplicates, called later and said the items shipped, my money was refunded and to have a good holiday.

my take is that they are pretty new to the game and are trying to work everything out, hopefully they can fix the site, and work on shipping.

I've ordered a few things from them. Their Web site automatically combines shipping, and in the past that is how I've bought from them. Not through eBay. Each time I've ordered from them, their packaging has been really poor. One time, the UPS guy had to pour all of the contents of my package onto my front porch because the outer box had ripped wide open from top to bottom. There was nothing inside to stop everything from banging around and breaking through the box walls. The shipping wasn't super expensive, but that's on the orders I've placed with them. I've not placed far more orders due to their high shipping prices. Even when combined.

They did send me a ratchet that was obviously heavily used when I supposedly bought a new one. A phone call and I dealt with a nice lady that got everything sorted out for me at no cost.

I am fussy about shipping costs, but no more than just including it with tax for the total shipped cost of items. My last Cripe order the shipping seems fair enough.

United Parcel Service (XML) (1 pkg x 14.75 lbs total) (UPS Ground, Est: (OCT 19, 2011)): $12.76

I've never had a issue with thier shipping costs, on ebay they will combine and send an invoice, the website is about the same shipping cost wise.

I have never had shipping cost much more then 20$ to 23$, and the box is heavy enough to justifiy that cost, let alone the savings.

My latest order was a 1/2 deep impact set for 21$ and two ingition modoule socket @ 3$ each and 26 of the Gearwrench type socket rails@ 3.50 each (regular price for those is about 9$ each or a little more, So I spent 91$ vs. 234$). Shipping was 20.00.

I dont see an issue with thier shipping cost unless your only spending a little money and there I can see the problem, when you buy more, you save more (usually).
