Recently put in an order with cripes.....they emailed me shortly after saying they charged too much initially on shipping and refunded me the excess amount, I recieved my package today(very well packaged and organized tight) and also recieved a 10% coupon! It wasnt much, but the customer service is awesome and very smooth ordering.

Kudos to cripes!!!

Just thought I would share my positive experience with this company.

They also have some great deals on US tools that arent made anymore at a very decent price.

Ordering off the website was slick. I don't like ebay to begin with so maybe thats the difference.

I had one issue with them awhile back, something I ordered wasn't in stock anymore, but they offered me a substitute item in exchange and a discount. I couldn't have been happier with them.

I have bought from them a few times. The prices were excellent on the tools and the packing was OK. I haven't had any experience with their service dept. though.

I've bought a ton of stuff from Cripe over the years. The few things I've had to return or exchange (whether a defect, or something my own fault) have been fine.

Bree is excellent to speak with whether over the phone or through email, and has been nothing but fantastic with exchanges or returns.

To the poster that had a bad experience; You might want to look at how you conducted yourself in the process as well. Most of the time if you're polite and patient, things will go much further when speaking with customer service folks who have assholes and idiots yelling at them all day over something they had nothing to do with. At the end of their shift, they'll remember the best and the worst. I know which side I'm happy to be on.

Good for them! If you need to balance out the strange feeling from an encountering an e-retailer who actually fixes problems on their own place an order with Autozone online and you can be over-charged for sales tax plus not have promo codes honored.

I've ordered from their Ebay store a few times and had no problems. In fact, I am currently putting together an order of a few items from them. Their prices on NOS USA made items are very good.

Who knows?
I'm also ordering a bunch of sockets to plug some holes on my socket rails. I've dealt with them before and have always been done right by.

I've had bad luck with their eBay store. Description of item was not accurate. Both packing and condition of the tool was poor. Customer service was unprofessional. They were more interested in making excuses, than making things right. As long as you don't have to return anything they are ok, but then customer support is what separates the good businesses from the bad.

Same exact experience as you. They sent a lower model than what was described. They told me i was a liar, that set me off real quick.

Some buyers are unreasonable - with tens of thousands of transactions, they're bound to have come across a few.
Even with my paltry few transactions.. sold a computer bit with cautions to check for compatiblility before bidding. Buyer squawked "It ain't compatible". I gave total refund, told him keep it, and he still gave me negative feedback!!

I can certainly understand wanting to flame the unreasonable buyers. Did you notice the seller responses started calm and only progressed to flame when the SAME buyer repeatedly claimed to have received the wrong blades on half a dozen different orders? Who wouldn't smell a rat!

Maybe some of the responses are "unprofessional", but it's very hard to get your point across with the limited space eBay gives you and include all those warm, fuzzy words to soften the blow.

Not to say sellers are all angels. I've had problems as a buyer too. Right now I'm trying to resolve an issue where the wrong item was sent. I started with an email to the seller. Only when that went unanswered did I start an official dispute with eBay. Every time I'm tempted to go "No more Mr. Nice Guy" on someone I remind myself that I have good intentions that occasionally go awry, and always appreciate a chance to fix it without involving the authorities.

There are always multiple sides to an issue, and I commend Blackwire for posting actual data - the link to the feedback .

If you look at their negative eBay feedback, it is fairly typical of any business on eBay. What is atypical is the way they respond to it. They accused one customer ( not me) of attempting to defraud them. The item in question was worth less than $2. I don't know about you, but if I was going to risk going to prison for defrauding someone, it would be for a lot more than $2. Normal people don't blow a gasket over $2, or go on crazy rants about welfare? Their response to negative feedback is bizarre to say the least. A good business does not get in ******* contests with their customers. If a customer wants to act crazy, let them be crazy by themselves, always try to stay professional.

Whoa, that is definitely bizarre, and surprising for the experiences I've had with them. Also strange is seeing the same person buying blades from them over and over and filing the exact same complaint.:headscrat

Cripe Distributing employs Humans who may make a Humanoid goof from time to time.. I experienced a small goof on an order; but a short email explaining the problem resolved the issue.. The important thing is that they correct the goofs in a Human way. I am a repeat customer of Cripe Distributing because they are good people to do business with.

One more happy customer here. I've never had any problems, everything showed up promptly, as described, and packed well. All of my orders with them have been 15+ items as well.

Great prices, well packaged, and fast shipping. But Shhshhhhh, dont tell everybody.

Also, if you call before placing your order on Ebay they will quote you over the phone what your actual shipping cost will be.

I have also had several bad experiences.

First was an order of clamps and some drill bits. They sent the order to the wrong address(some one in NY), after about 20(19 of which was me asking for tracking, and them telling me they would call or email it) calls they finally realized their mistake, they sent out a new order. Took almost 6 weeks to get the order. Never got the drill bits and they won't even refund for the drill bits. Dealt with a Deb I believe, she was not very nice to deal with, I have worked in CS before and tried to be nice and understanding. I made no demands.

Second order was some more clamps(welding), Very poorly packaged, some were lost in transit, long fight to get them to make a claim. Then had to wait. Then they sent a cheaper item, and had to go through the process of a call tag and get the right item. Seems I really had to hold their feet to the fire.

Last order was Grip On stuff. They sent me someone else order. This order was about the best results I have had, but took forever to get straighten out.

Huh, that is very strange and seems unprofessional.

Check out some of these gems from Cripe. Apparently whoever writes these likes to make their opinions on welfare known and doesn't like using periods:
You Just keep trying you don't get stuff for free sign up for welfare
The truth is you don't want to return it you want it for free this isn't welfare
You are a crook if you want something for free go on welfare but Keep trying
U are crazy is it a full moon out you were refunded the minute we got the return
Yea that's how we send blades with half the teeth broken off Brilliant!!!!

I have ordered from a them a few times and I had a problem with my last order because they packaged it really poorly.

My last order was a now-discontinued Craftsman RHFT flex head ratchet. They put a long-handle 3/8" ratchet in only a paper padded envelope with no other reinforcement. I received an empty envelope. I got a refund, but I was bummed because they were out of the ratchet so I couldn't get a replacement.

At least they didn't tell me to go on welfare and accuse me of being a scammer.

This is an interesting thread. I've ordered from Cripes a couple times now and never had any issues. They don't pack the box well. If it is something you want to be immaculate, maybe not good for that. I did get one item that was china coo when advertised as US coo, but only one thing once. Prices are pretty good on most items, sometimes really good, others a little high.

I have found their new website is great! You can put stuff in cart or just in a wishlist. I only order once or twice a year, so build up enough things in the wishlist for some time before placing an order. This way shipping is as low as possible. They are good at not overcharging much for shipping. But with the 10% off Welcome Back code, shipping is basically free on a larger order. Surprised by those negative comments in their ratings - sounds like someone else should be in customer service there. I like Bree alot for orders. You can also combine ebay only items with their normal website items. Some things are only on ebay. But you can mix and match, just talk with them. - Paul

Some people who work for a living don't like paying for constantly expanding mulitgenerational perpetual welfare families.. Can't say I blame them.

I always call in my order after finding the part numbers on cripes own site.
They take my CC directly over the phone, and I have ended paying a little less than I expected. Bree has always been nice to me, I have always been polite to her. Maybe it's an Old Guy Thing, treating females as ladies as a default till proven otherwise?

I'm not saying I'm for or against welfare. It's just that ebay feedback is a strange place to bring up the topic.

It's happened to me a few times; I'll buy multiple wrenches from them on E-bay, paying separate shipping for each one. They'll bundle the items together and refund me the difference on the shipping cost. Cripe is A+ in my book. Every time I search their store, I find something that's so well-priced, I suddenly "need" it.

Been waiting for too long, just ordered from them today.l I had put together a small list before xmas but the shipping was ridiculous. Emailed about it and Bree was very polite and told me what to do. Just got back to it this morning and replied after putting them in my cart. Within an hour she had the item picked and weighed and sent me a PP invoice and an email. I paid within 5 minutes and replied to let her know and received an instant response from her that she had seen the payment and thanking me. 10 minutes or so later another email that it'll be shipped today.
Prompt replies from Bree, polite and professional not to mention helpful. Can't say much else, but a solid start. I used to work for a powerseller on eBay - eBay is against the seller 99% of the time and there are lots of scammers on eBay as buyers. It's tough to sell there and tough to keep em honest. We had a small crew and everything was processed by certain people with everything being packed by one shipper. Sometimes you have to watch you're employees are pulling appropriate product and properly handle damaged product when it's found before shipping orders. Maybe that was the case, who knows.

I'm not sure how i feel about cripes unprofessional comments. It would look better on their feedback to respond in a professional manner no matter what the cause. It just looks very immature.

hahaha.. I think it's great Cripe talks ****. I agree it's not professional and immature. But that's because I understand where they're coming from.

I sell on eBay and I'm so sick of tip-toeing through the tulips for these assholes.

(Seems like) I'm always kissing *** and refunding when there is no way in hell I should be. But I'm trying to get that positive feedback because this is my hobby money and my choice to sell on there. Part of the game I guess.

I like Cripe. Never had a problem with an order. But I'm ok with "humanoid goof" as someone else said, as long as they take care of it.

I've ordered a few 30+ lb packages of woodworking clamps from Cripe and they've all been packaged pretty well. Maybe a little superficial damage, but that could have been from before they packed it too since they got pulled from Home Depot and tossed in a big gaylord.

Placed my first order with Bree late Wednesday afternoon. Great person to deal with. Professional and very customer oriented. Got my order yesterday in a priority mail box and it was packed great.
Kudos to Cripe and their staff.

I actually met the Cripe people at a trade show, this was a few years ago when they had the old website and still relatively unheard of. I wasn't very impressed with them.

I still buy from them every once and awhile, but I prefer ordering from other vendors.
