Critique my trunk tool kit - PICS

Don't know if this will do the OP any good but here is what I have been doing the past month or so.

The guys who mention about having tools but no parts have a point so I have been collecting up some used/serviceable parts where I can for free or cheap. To verify the functionality of these parts I have installed them when I can and then put the known good parts removed in my stash.
Here is what i have so far:
-used waterpump w/new gasket
-ignition coil w/igniter
-PCM
-plugs (lol all three)
-wiper motor
-misc fuses and relays
-water and air temp sensors
-timing belt
-timing belt tensioner
-fuel filter
-injector resistor
-MAP sensor
-distributor w/cap/rotor/wire
-antifreeze

I plan on getting:
-fuel injector
-alternator
-alternator belt
-oil filter w/3 quarts


It seems like a lot but this will fit behind the seats on a long trip. They are each in a ziploc bag and then carefully wrapped in paper.
My tools are tailored specifically for the Clown Car (8,10,12,14,etc.) and are going in some tool wraps under the seats.

Right on. In addition to the tools...if you can't fix it, what are you going to do, sleep in the car?

Sometimes a hacksaw comes in handy. For my road kit, I have the Milwaukee handle that holds sawzall blades. I have used it several times. A good file can help out at times too.

I've been searching old posts to see about getting ideas about what folks carry in their travel boxes and ran across this thread. I know it's older but it struck me as interesting how many people say to have a phone, credit card and a triple A membership b/c you can't really fix anything on the road. I want to relay an experience I had just a couple of weeks ago. I was hunting and my truck wouldn't start. I had a buddy there who could run me in to town to a parts store but no tools. If I had had tools (I ended up borrowing from a friend of a friend) I could have been up an running. Had I not been able to repair myself I would have spent $100.00 to tow it to town and another $100.00 to $150.00 to replace a $25.00 relay. Can all repairs be made roadside with a travel box? I doubt it very much but I think that you can do enough to justify the time and expense of putting one together. My 2 cents anyway. Sorry to dredge up an old post but hey, it's the internet, I can do what I want.

Sorry but I did not catch where the OP lives or travels. I realize this is not a "tool" bag thing but I live in the desert and I don't leave home without shade cloth and a gallon of water. Course cold weather travel would mean snow chance candles etc. Florida mean skeeter repellant and a shot gun.

Of course if you are way out there some KY might be good. It could be a long time before the helicopter gets to you and you might get lonely

Not doing tools cause everyone needs something different but the following are pretty universal for road repairs/damage control

Reflective safety vest for night time troubles. Heard too many stories of people being killed trying to change a tire or hit walking down a highway shoulder cause they were not seen. The vest might help, it might not, but it stores very compactly and can also be used as a marker if you have to leave your vehicle on the side of a dark road.

Warning triangles - same reasons as above

Plastic overalls - Never know when you'll break down on the way to a wedding, viewing, or even an interview. Also helps in wet weather to stay dry. Generally stores compactly.

1-3 gallon gas can.
Fuses appropriate to your car

Remember to use your head: Air up your spare before trips, check wear items and fluids, etc...

Not **** answers but hope some of you guys add these items into your kits.
