I recently completed my garage renovation. Look here for all of my pics. Unfortunately they are not in order.

Since those pics were taken, I've painted the walls and ceiling. Where there were exposed studs, I simply painted the studs in a light grey. The dark grey is the insulating barrier that the builder used (instead of plywood).

That looks very good. I'm closing on a new house later this month and am looking to put down VCT as well. I'm personally struck on the black and white check patterns but really wonder how they stand up to grime and grit from daily use, especially in a winter climate that sees lots of snow and salt on the roads.

It looks like your choice of colors would hide dirt well, was that a factor in your choice? Did you put down a polish/sealer and wax? Also, how is it holding up?

The light/dark greys do hide dirt, but still need to be cleaned occasionally. My wife chose the colors, based on the dark grey of our home's insulation barrier and the contrasting light grey studs she had painted. This makes the unfinished walls look like they ARE finished, sort of...

I had a crew put down my VCT, and I don't know whether they sealed it. They did NOT wax it. I was going to have it professionally waxed for $100, but decided that I would wax it myself later.

It has been brutally cold (temps down to the mid-teens) this winter. Yet the tiles have held beautifully. My only problem has been a dip in the floor that was not addressed before tiles were laid. I should have used some self-leveling mortar to coat my floor before laying down the adhesive. Now I've got 3 or 4 tiles that have gaps in between. I'm keeping an eye on them. If they crack, I'll have to replace them. So far though, I've run the car over them every day and there has been no further damage.
