Coastal Tool Supply has been going lower and lower on the price for these (#10498). Now I see why. I got a set last week and just decided to check them out. They're all crooked!

Here's an image of one:

i think Costal just drop ships from the manufacturer. Have you contacted the manufacturer? I just bought a set and I'm hoping that Esco fixes the problem. No way I'd be beating on a new jack to straighten that.

I guess right angles aren't what they used to be.

Friend of mine just told me that the same thing happened to him (but not Coastal). He said he contacted Esco and they sent him a good one. My turn.

If I bought it new, and it was that bad, It would go back in a heartbeat. If I had it for a while, I'd deem it unsafe, scrap it, and buy replacement(s)

I purchased a set from them back in September at the lower price and had seen the issue posted here before so I checked them out and mine were just fine. I guess QC missed those :) Let us know how the manufacturer or the re-seller handles your claim please.

They haven't yet. They took care of it for a friend of mine. I emailed them yesterday and am waiting for a response.

Reject, counterfeit, knockoff... Al least one of those words should fit.

Disgusting, shameful, pathetic... At least two of those words should fit.

Embarrassed, Pissed, Horrified.... All three of these words should fit the seller and
manufacturer when viewing this thread.

Leary, Reluctant, Negative.... All three of those words fit My thoughts about purchasing a
jack stand from that source..

I would be interested in Reading a response from the seller or manufacturer in this
thread..... There is no way in hell I would
consider buying their product without an explanation as to how that **** got dumped on the market.

The Esco Stands are in fact a knockoff of the original AC Hydraulic stands, which is not available anymore or at least in the states.

meh, I think this is a bit displaced. these are more like williams screwdrivers bringing back a snap on hardhandles. A design that was well liked but taken off the market by the inventor/oem.

If you {search} GJ you wil find a bunch of those williams USA screwdrivers more crooked than the ESCO stands :lol_hitti

..so just goes to show you to not throw stones in glass houses.

Sure wouldn't catch Me ordering any screwdrivers with crooked handles, and not sending them back. Crappy workmanship is something that I don't find acceptable from anyone.

UPDATE:

So I had emailed both Coastal Tool and ESCO on Thursday of last week about the problem. Didn't hear anything back, so I was going to telephone them today to see what's up. Well, dang...the UPS guy just dropped off a box with four new posts!

I don't know who gets the credit for that, but that's pretty good customer service. I still have to check them out, to make sure Pythagoras would approve of these right angles.
