Leaning towards buying, as needed. However, what I need, isn't guaranteed to be available, let alone NEW, when I need it. That said, I'd like add to my USA Craftsman collection and a quick ebay search shows the following 3/8 drive crows feet, currently available shipped NEW:
Single 10mm crows foot: $9.99.
10 Piece 10-19mm crows feet for “bare” with no retail packaging: $36.95.
10 Piece 10-19mm crows feet for $85.00.
Thoughts?

I noticed when looking at crowsfoot 3/8" wrenches the difference between the top tier tool co's compared to cheaper options was the size or thickness of the toes on the feet. I bought this set from a mate who is a tool truck guy who said these were NOS & fairly rare, with a hefty msrp if bought from a shop/truck. I paid $80au unopened in there packet. Stahlwille 12mm-24mm with a few skips, haven't used em yet.

I have a set of 3/8" New Britain crows feet and a set of Snap-on crow flares. It's ok with me that I seldom use them, but I'm glad I have them.

I have an old school set of 12pt tubing wrenches 3/8 to 1” all USA but largest is Snap on and one other is blue point, but you can see the difference. They’re far less bulky in the areas that matter... to accessibility, Yet stronger and hold better then the other brand of which I can’t recall. Stared with an F I’ll have to take a look.

3/8 and 1/2 drive, no 1/4.
I use either about as often. Lots of times it's for hydraulic lines / fittings / cartridge valves jammed too close together to get any other way. Just used one yesterday for exactly that scenario to replace a cartridge.

Same for me. I dont recall many instances where i wasnt working on a line of some sort. I mostlly use my 3/8 ones and see no point to a 1/4 inch set. I have 1/2 cheapies i use and they have come in handy. I think unless you work on equipment, these tools will gather dust in the back of your toolbox. Like anything though, when you need them you need them.
