Just finished this last week, the wood its made out of came out of the church attic floor, dirty fur they wanted to use it historical reasons I was not optimistic about carving it.
After glue up I roughed it out on the cnc router a 7/16 endmill followed with a 1/4 ballnose my 3d model I made has superficial detail I finish it off by hand giving each one a unique look.
The fir carved up pretty well not a lot of fuzz besides the one nailhead I missed trashing my planer blades prepping for glue up it went well, I keep a crappy set of knives for iffy wood.
The body is 3' tall the cross is 4'
