Cruiser,

The bottom line:

If ANYONE from this board walked into a Sears and the retailer refused to honor the posted price, citing that it was old....it would turn into a 25 page thread about how Sears has gone to pot. You can insert ANY business in place of Sears....it wouldn't be tolerated by this crew.

Good luck to you Mike.

People were probably more understanding 75 years ago when sears was first starting out. Dunno? What do you think.

Of course, there are posts like that all over the interent.

However, I think he was comparing Sears in it's earliest days to Wren Hand Tools.

Have fun with your Taiwan tools.
He has tools I want....but I can't dring myself to order from that internet circus he is running.

So...which is it?

Cruiser,

I belong to a bunch of forums. Some of which I have thousands of posts on. So what?

They all have a guy like Nissan, who is never wrong, will argue anything until blue in the face....and believes that post count is somehow related to intelligence and experience.

I have read hundreds of his posts. Many of them have had great value. But I also see that he fits this profile perfectly...internet *******. So I called it like I see it. Oh well. Nothing gained, nothing lost. Folks like that are usually a whole lot nicer when not hiding behind a keyboard anyway.

Actually, I've been corrected on several things on here.

Hey genius, here's a quote of mine from 2-02-09.

Post count is a poor indicator IMHO, but I don't know how else you could go about it, either.

As rick said, there are many people that just speak up on one topic or another, he's helped me out quite a bit, even on the phone.

Mmmmm...

A poor indicator of WHAT? You left that part out.

Regardless, I've read a bunch of your posts where you came off as snappy and rude to folks. Apparently, you feel obligated to correct others.

Yes, and you smell like sunshine and roses.

I'm new to the board and was wondering what criteria was used to signify members as Senior, Junior or otherwise?

It boils down to the number of posts you have made. I do not recall the number it takes to rank as a senior member, I want to think it is like 100.

I have been a member here for years I dont post alot usually just when I have something new I made to show or something HVAC related . I want to say you have to have 250 posts to be considered a senior member to me I will admit I dont think this constitues a senior member . I have been around since we were Junkies :D. I know alot of members here have been around that long.

Rick

Happy now?

That doesn't even have anything to do with what I was saying. In context, that fact is obvious.

You're jumping from thread to thread to attack me for nothing.

My post to Mike was mostly in jest, and I sent him a PM to make sure he knew that.

But thank god for you to save the day with your internet heroism.

I am glad to hear that you have been wrong once or twice....

Regardless of what your opnion is of a member there is no call to refer to someone as an *******. Some members are more to the point and some, like me, type alot. I have read some post by nissan crawler AND others that came off as short but I did not take it to heart. I do not think they meant to be short or snappy. I also have witnesses nissan crawler admit that he was incorrect on a topic. I visit this forum because I like the advice and the ideas that I get. If I ask for somthing and do not like the answer I just go on to the next post. Our personality is what makes us different and keeps the forum livley. I have also found incorrect pricing on sites like Sears and Snap on to name a few. When you call they tell you the price was incorrect and they will correct the error. If they will not sell the item for that price what do you say. We all make mistakes. I bid 150.00 instead of 15.00 on an ebay item recently. Good thing the seller was not an a$$hole. He was nice enough to work out a fair price with me. ALL IMHO

Bushawg,

Telling folks "learn to read" and these other smart *** comments he makes have nothing to do with being short and to the point.

He's been rude to me, unprovoked, in other threads...and I have seen him act that way to other new posters.

I may be new here...but I am not new to forums. I belong to a bunch, and several years ago moderated a few. Folks like him drive away new posters. I've seen it too many times.

Maybe he is the nicest guy in the world, I don't know....but he acts like an ******* on here....particularly to some of the newer posters.

Take it to heart? No, certainly not. But I won't exactly feel bad for calling him what he is.
