CSPS Tool box price gouging on Craigs List

I ran across this add last night on Craigs List. I've been looking for another CSPS 41" box for a while, with no luck. According to this guy, it sells for over $1100 brand new.

I emailed him and told him that I would pay him the $699 that it originally sold for at Costco, and attached a picture of my own identical box, as proof that I knew what his ploy was.

While I don't condone him lying about what it cost new I'd hardly call it price gouging, sounds like basic supply and demand to me.

If he were honest up front, I would have been more inclined to offer him more than $699. We'll see if he bites. I won't hold my breath.

CSPS make nearly all the Stainless cheap boxes. There's a 60incher at Sams Club.

The Hammerhead box they have pictured is the wrong pic, they sell CSPS. It's been the wrong pic for at least 2 years..

This is an Aircraft Industry Quality tool box mad of Stainless Steel.

He mentions this a couple times. Does he mean the same quality as the toolboxes used for working on airplanes? We don't have any stainless steel boxes where I work - the older ones are all Stanley Vidmar and are being replaced with SnapOns. Or, maybe he means the same quality as all the stainless steel that goes into airplanes? I don't recall seeing much of that either...

P38 engine cowls, the panels immediately behind the exhaust stacks on the F7F tigercat & the panel below/behind the stacks on the P51 (as well as the shrouds) hth
