CT8810 Vs. CT8810A

Hi everyone.

I have a CT8810 Snap on 3/8 cordless impact which I got new last year. Recently I bought a CT8810A from someone.

CT8810 comes with CTB7185 battery, 3.0Ah, 54Wh

CT8810A comes with CTB8185 "MonsterLithium™ battery for long run time" battery, 4.0Ah, 72Wh

Both guns and batteries seem to be exact in size, each have a sticker that asks to use the battery pack that came with it.
eg: CT8810A sticker: " Use only snap on CTB8185 battery pack".

I've swapped batteries in both guns and all seems to be fine. I plan to keep the CT8810 and the newer batteries and sell the rest.

My question is: since both guns have different part numbers, is there a difference I don't know about? Maybe some internal differences?
Are they the exact same guns?

From what I can find, which isn't much, the motor in the CT8810A is what is different than the CT8810, as it's listed as 8810A on that part and not 8810

Thanks for reply. Can I ask how you figured the motors are different? Different part numbers?

I am hoping they revised just the part numbers just due to the newer battery.

The ct8810A came after the CT8810, at least I'm guessing it did, as all the CDR6850A and CT4410A came after , seems they always add the A when they make a small improvement to the tool,so that being said, the parts list I found lists every part that ends in 8810, except the motor which ends in 8810A. I'm not into those impacts, but can tell you on the earlier stuff there were no differences inside that I could ever find, just things like a screen in the motor opening on the side of the tool housing on the CT4410A that the CT4410 didn't have.
