Hey everybody I'm looking for some ideas for a metal project that a small group of 9yr old boys can make. I'm an assistant den leader for my sons Cub Scout Pack, and I volunteered to host a craft/project out of something metal. I have most metal shaping, cutting, hand tools. The project would need to be completed in 2 hours, cost less than $40 total (I have to pay for it out of my own pocket), and hopefully use a few different methods, and tools. It could be an individual item or everybody working together to make one item. I have thought of a couple ideas, but wonder what you could come up with. Thanks Chad

I'd do something easy like an ornament. You could stamp out or prepare a couple of general shapes. The kids could drill the hole to hang it, clean up the edges and maybe engrave something. When my kids were nine they couldn't do much more than that. :D

When I was in Cub Scouts we made metal hangers, like wraught iron style, for the tops of our mail boxes. We hung small wooden name plates from them.

Simple to make, and didn't take long.
