Not sure if that's the model, but one of Wards RAS's had a rear spindle that turned at around 20,000 rpm - AFAIK, NONE of sears units had anything but a 1/2"-20 thread on the back end of the spindle, which was just the non blade end but same speed, 3600 rpm I believe... Steve

I have three DeWalt RAS and this one. The elevation crank is in front as are all the other controls, so I prefer the design over the DeWalts. There are two accessory output shafts on the right side of the motor. One for 20,000 RPM, the second for 3,450 RPM. You can use the 20K shaft with a collet for router bits (or any 1/4" air tool accessory) turning this into an overhead pin router. The other accessory shaft will spin grinding wheels, MDF wheels, sander disks, sander drums, buffing wheels, wire wheels, wire brushes and a drill chuck. Anything that you would mount to a 5/8" grinder motor shaft.

Thanks for that Zeus, I was about 12 when I was looking at that so didn't remember much detail (that was 65 years ago :=(
I still have my original 12" Craftsman, bought new in '72 (plus a "parts" one, $10 on CL, supposedly works, plus TWO of the 10" (one MIGHT be parts, other works)... Steve

I have a 240V 12" Craftsman RAS, bought new in 1979; scrapped for the credit a couple Craftsman 10" RAS's, and bought another Craftsman 12" 240V RAS when I saw it on CL. I have a spare motor I bought off ebay many years ago, for the 12" 240V RAS's. Both are cast-iron columns and arms. I don't use 'em much, but for cross-cutting, it's nice to have one.
