Anyone have some recent price quotes for Mohawk lifts?

Due to my garage (lower ceiling) and the fact that I do NOT want a baseplate...coupled with my 7500 lb diesel pickup, I have decided Mohawk is the way for me.

My local distributor has some older System 1 (9k rating) lifts that he pulled from a dealer. He quoted me $4k installed for one of them.

Does this compare?
He said a new 1A is close to $7500, but I didn't know if he was making that a bit expensive to make the used lift I am sure he makes more on seem like a better deal.

The price sounds reasonable, about half of new.
I have yet to install my used Mohawk lifts I bought, still need concrete in my building.
Love the quality of the Mohawk lifts and replacement parts are very reasonable.

Here is the current price sheet.

Good luck and post pics when you get it installed.

I've actually found another option. I found a used lift from a private seller. Unfortunately the lift is in pieces.

I know I will need the following at minimum to install:
1. Wej-it Anchors ~$100
2. ATF ~$50

Is there anything I should look at in particular?

I plan to bring a parts breakdown with me to inventory the components. Is anything particularly expensive should it be missing?

As long as the main pieces, column, carriage, arms, plus the cylinder and linkage you should be fine.
The few items that I have had to buy were very reasonable, even the new stickers were cheap IMHO.

Good luck with your purchase and post pic's when your done.
You won't be disappointed in your Mohawk purchase.

Kevin,

Thanks for the reply.

Any idea what things like the truck adapters cost? I assume those would be the most likely thing missing.

AC,

I don't think the adapters are that much, they are just steel spacers.
If you know somebody with a lathe it is a simple job.

I started digging more and more into the used Mohawk underworld.

I had lengthy conversations with a rep from the factory and my local distributor.

This all left me with 1 main question:

How critical is the modern hydraulic equalization?

The factory told me up until 1992 all of the lifts had a single overhead equalization line. He didn't mention WHY they switched.

The local distributor claims those are completely worthless and horrible to use. He claims they don't lift straight easily and that he generally just offers $1k credit towards a new lift whenever someone calls him with one. He said he hates them so much I could have one for $1k but he promised I wouldn't be happy with it.

I guess the "modern" 1993+ system has 2 hydraulic lines overhead and a diverting valve mounted on the pump assembly to make equalization easy.

Does anyone here have real world experience?
