Just to let you guys know S-K is currently having a rough time with warranty stuff. I summited for some ratchet rebuild kits in January, I got my 1/4 drive ones, but the others did not come, so I emailed them late January, they said they would ship yesterday, I asked if they shipped, they said possibly by early MAY! The same thing happened with a few sockets I I summited, one is late March, while the other is mid-April. You can see their response on why they are taking so long in the pic. If anyone has tried recently please share your experience.

I was just going to post if S-K had any type of tool warranties and how to go about getting tools fixed or repaired. I have 4 ratches that the directional dial doesn't work and one I broke the ****** off the head. I hade them in the scrap metal bin soon to be cashed in. Thanks all, Johnny Generic

S-K warranty service used to be excellent, but I haven’t heard much of anything positive since the Asian purchase of the company. I’ve seen ratchet repair kits on eBay.

I was just thinking to myself yesterday - after listening to the Sackins talk about SK - how getting rebuild kits for the half dozen SK ratchets I have is going to be. I didn't worry too much about getting any more but getting rebuild kits to keep the ones I do have going now seems like it could be a problem. TUFF 1 rebuild kits are already tuff to find!

I believe the Tuff 1 ratchets were the same as Facom. Proto palm control kits may also work if you don't mind the little bit of change.

Well, I've been grabbing whatever Craftsman ratchets I see (mostly RHFT variations) just to have a stash of kits. I figured worst comes to worst I can pull out the old reliable Craftsman ratchets for use. Or sell them to friend's who need something.
Guess I'll have to do the same now with S-K.

Thanks, might do it to that one or find another to do it to because I might have enough stuff to build a wayne 1/4 set

I've been waiting on two 3/8" dr, repair kits since Oct. '22.....I received an email Dec. '22 that they would back In stock the first week of Feb. '23.....I spoke with them at the end of February and the lady said I should see them by the second week of March!
I asked what the problem was and she said they were having problems with their "heat treating process".....how many ways can you heat treat something? I thought that process was pretty standardized?

I wonder if they still require you to ship them the broken tools...

Thank you. Some years ago I had a small cracked socket - I inquired about the warranty and they asked me to send it. I never bothered. However, I had a problem with the ratchet (I like SK tools and have many) - they were very helpful and sent me a new one (though with the defect in chroming, but I was still very thankful since they did not have to send me the whole thing...)

I hope SK recovers well!

Good news!
Having kits is important, and replacing that damaged socket is, too. In all my years of wrenching with S-K sockets I've never cracked one or stripped it out. Though I've had my fair share of peeling chrome, and every one in a while I slice a finger with it.
