Current thoughts on Concealed splices?

Have a piece of 14/2 ending at a barn light that will need to be extended a few feet inside a new roof. Would rather not have to pull back to the next junction.

It's an awning/eyebrow roof. Completely enclosed and not accessible.

You cut a hole in the ceiling. Join your wires in a box that you put in the hole. Put a nice blank cover on it.

That’s the way I did it. Blank covers don't look bad to me. Others may disagree,

The do the hole on the inside wall or ceiling, and drop your blank box there.

Would technically work, but would involve digging out a substantial amount of foam to pull the new wire. If I've come that far I'll go the rest of the way over to the current switch.

Considered it, but likely wouldn't ever out and in this spot.

Even if I put one I still need to extend the wire, there's like 4' stuffed back into the box and that is it...

How about a small access hatch in the ceiling of the eyebrow? Leave box where is and just be able to reach it?

Nothing yet, but will likely pull new wire.

Might use 14/3 as I've still got 100'+ and no real use. 14/2 has come down, but no real plans for anything so likely don't need another full roll (famous last words)

Dug out some foam and shoved the wire back through into the house for now. Was right smack in the middle where the ledger needed to go

BTW! I am still waiting 30 years for my house to burn down from the bead of silicone around my B-Vent and stainless steel chimney flashing that a few of my friends said it will catch fire.
