Looking at a Curtis compressor (actually pump and 80gal horizontal tank, no motor).
Data plate shows 4 3/16 & 2 1/8 bore Two stage.

Seller had a 3hp motor on it and states 805rpm with 11.3 CFM at 175 psi

Never heard of a Curtis compressor before. Anyone know anything about them? If bought right, is it worth the effort to find a 3HP motor to run it?

Curtis is one of the top US brands up there with Quincy, Champion, and IR. Whether it's worth the effort is probably something you'll have to decide for yourself. The price of admission would have a lot to do with it. It's possible that 3HP is not going to be enough power for that pump, so consider that you may need a 5HP or larger.

In the only town in Pennsylvania, Bloomsburg.
Tried to match it up[ on the Internet, very similar bore size as to the Curtis D96 pump. Could not find a manual so this is an old unit, one guy has a face plate, circa 1942; if it is a discontinued pump, very unlikely you could get parts for it. Since it is very close in bore size to the D96, 5 H.P. would be minimum.

Contact Curtis, see if they can help
