Curtis is an old line compressor manufacturer. Have no fear that's a fine machine you're looking at.

The pump is the real work horse, don't worry about the driver. On second thoughts contact Curtis in St. Louis. I wouldn't doubt they would be glad to tell you about their products.

They use a pump from Taiwan until you get the ML line of compressors. Other than that, I would have bought one from then. I went with a Champion Advantage series instead.

I sell quite a few curtis units, mostly their Ultra Pack series with all of the bells a whistles. they are pretty good units. they're no Quincy, but beat the **** out of the Junk IR is pushing. you shouldnt be disapointed with the Curtis.

they are just like Champion at this point, everyone and their brother has that line. you shouldnt have a problem finding a distributor. just search for curtis compressors

The other one I am considering is the
Quincy Air Master Reciprocating Air Compressor — 5 HP, 230 Volt Single Phase, Model# 2V41C60VC
http://www.toolzone.com/acatalog/Too...hase_3111.html

Only concern is that it has a much higher RPM motor than the Curtis, The Quincy uses both a motor and pump which seem unique to this model. It is rated at 100% duty cycle. I have yet to find what the Curtis duty cycle rating is.
