I have seen it now. That is pretty nifty, but a lot of farting around for only 1 hole. I suppose that it could be done more effectively and with more expense, but it goes to show that drilling a curved hole is possible.

How about drilling a square hole?

Only possible use I can see is if you were building one of those rope fences where they bore through the 4x4's and you wanted a really fancy corner post...

Even I'm not that ****.

I've bored curved holes in studs for electrical wires many times. Just use a spade bit, and you use the fact that the shank is much smaller than the cutting edge to cut a curved hole with it.

Does Izzy happen to be German by chance? German engineers seem to find solutions for problems that don't exist.

Hi aka Larry. Maybe Izzy is German, I don't know, but he would not be the only one to engineer solutions for a non existent problem.

What may not be a problem for you, may be a problem for someone else. This I believe with all my heart because I see tools that I would never buy because I don't see the utilityyet they are on the market and they sell.

This is good for new construction, but especially remodeling/repair/appliance installs when you are in tight spots and need to run electrical wires, pex tubing, refrigeration lines for ice machines, satellite/cable lines, or larger holes for dishwasher discharge lines, supply lines for washing machines or even toilets, etc. Not every location has the perfect setup or access and this could certainly come in handy. Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, appliance installers, tv repair, technicians of all sorts could benefit from this for sure.

Thank God some people see some utility in his idea. I thought I was alone. I was ALMOST feeling stupid. Dah.

Kind of makes me think of a friend, a great tiler, was recruited by Neiman Marcus to do tile in a store in Florida.(just to point out he was no dummy) Well he was offered to represent the Schulter System, but being the great tiler he was, possibly making any finish the client wanted, did not see the utility. LOW AND BEHOLD THE SCHLUTER SYSTEM took off like a rocket. So to all of those people pooh poohing new products, I would step back and wait to see the results.
