I’m looking for a a company that will drill holes and engrave legends on a two-gang cover plate. Pretty simple: three small holes for momentary push buttons with labels below.

I’ve found a few vendors online but they will only do larger quantities (100+). I need two. Do any of you pros deal with a company that will do such a thing?

For a QTY of 2, but still requiring customization, you're unlikely to find a place to order it from. Find a place with a laser cutter for plastics and they should be able to do it. A sign shop, digital fab shop, that kind of thing.

For example, a quick google for Cincinnati pulls up this place: https://www.customlogosigns.com/

They'd certainly be able to do it. Whether they want to or not, is another thing.

I also run a shop that could do it, but as an example, I've got a minimum 1-hour labor charge at $150. You'd be paying that plus the cost of the faceplates, plus shipping. If you find a small laser operation (a bunch of people operate them out of their home) you should be able to get two faceplates for $20-50.

Are you looking for laser cut or milled out legends? Seems like milled out may not show up very well. Laser would be better for that but some plastics give off nasty fumes when laser cut. What faceplate material? The standard ones are pretty brittle. The nylon ones are easier to cut and more flexible. I have a desktop cnc mill that should be able to do it.

can't you just get a blank face plate and drill it our yourself? for the legend, a p-touch label? might not be elegant but its cheap and easy.

find a local 07FFL or 03SOT gun guy and see if they have a laser to do do it
