Very nice work. I have an appreciation for what it takes just to put that video together. If I may make a suggestion, give the tape in the following link a try instead of the masking tape. I have not used it yet but I have used masking tape and know that it will leave a residue behind. This stuff is supposed to cure that problem.

Wow, definitely not what I was expecting to see when I thought of someone making a new charge pipe! Really nice work, hope you post up some more of your stuff. is this something you do for a living or a side job/ hobbyist?

We get a lot of parts powdercoated at work and often see them come in with this type of tape/ sheet and I have used it for when having some stuff powdercoated. works well for masking off areas that you don't want coated and not really leaving a residue, but its more plastic'y and seems less adhesive than masking tape, and I would not imagine it would work well for "structurally" holding pieces in place when mocking something like tubing up. I have also had occasional issues with the powdercoating tape cracking the edges of the coating when its being removed, but not consistently so its hard to say what's to blame.

hey, thanks for the feedback. Yes I live in Europe, exact in Germany near Frankfurt/ Wiesbaden.

This is only a hobby, but I can use some tools from a friend, he has a ironworks/ metal shop near my garage. I m not an expert, only a student and go to a university at the moment.
I start welding when I was 14 years old. Learning by doing...

Now I work sometimes at this shop and I program a CNC mill and a Waterjet and do a lot of CAD work there.

I hope I can post more videos in the future....

@ Defender Chassis

that is a nice tip. I have this typ of tape too. At the next project, I will give it a try and compare both.

Thank's for the information!

Dang,

I think you hit a home run on the first time at bat!

Nice work! Welcome to the GJ.

Warning! The GJ is a wicked place. She will make you clean the shop and buy more tools!

Hey, thank you. I appreciate it.

@CNGsaves

it is an old lathe, built by TOS. This is a company from Czechoslovakia.

I don't know the exact year, but this machine was built in the 80`s. It is a very solid and precision machine.
You can handle max. 400mm (16inch) in diameter and 1000mm (40inch) length.
It has a digital read out system with glass scales.
