The Mrs. donated an old file cabinet to the cause. I transformed it into this custom Craftsman file cabinet. I think I'll use some of the drawers for manuals and organizing sandpaper, and the others for some big tools.

Cheap way to add a lot of storage to the shop.

Here's a picture of my converted file cabinet. It's next to the converted refrigerator. It's not a very good pic. I'll try to post a better one. Cabinet heavy duty Rustolium Red, and the drawers Rustolium Bronze (Gray). Riveted some aluminum carpet ends for drawer pulls, and threw on some craftsman casters. Attach a label and you have a garage file cabinet.

Here are some better pictures of my file cabinet. It is pretty heavy-duty, but the gray paint was horrendous. So, it was an easy call to paint it. As you can see, it's not the best job, but hey, it's in the garage! Put some steel on the bottom to stiffen it up for the casters, and like I wrote previously, the "drawer pulls" are some kind of carpet kickplate riveted to the top of each drawer...purely cosmetic. Not too bad for my first paint job. I'm pretty sure I rolled on the paint and I did virtually no sanding...as you can tell. It sure doesn't bother me as an eyesore anymore.

Where do you get the Craftsman emblems from?

I got all of my emblems from ebay. The big plastic ones one the refrigerator about 8x2 inches came with white letters, so I used a silver paint pen to color over the letters. They turned out pretty well. I still have have dozens of the small plastic ones. They are the same as the large ones, except they come with the letters already silver and are about 5x1 inches.
