Elroy still prefers his custom tray:

And it took a little over a year to return to this project. Elroy figured it was about time he finished up one of his trays.

Started off making some test bends to see how they fit

Considering how bad stainless galls with itself, Elroy didn't want any metal to metal contact so he wanted to incorporate these nylon washers

Initially Elroy wanted to set the rivets from the inside of the tray as shown above. This would place the formed end of the rivet at the thicker material. One little problem, the rivet gun was too big to fit inside the tray so Elroy set them from the outside

And the best thing is, the sockets don't fall out

Steel with an FAA approval that costs 10x more than it should. No different than any other. Although aircraft tend to use some different alloys: Boeing has their own alloy they use in certain places, airbus, etc. etc.

Ben thinks Elroys trays are cool and wishes the cornwell dude would come by so he could purchase some, as Ben doesnt have the time to make them.

Elroy was banned a few months ago.

If you dont have a brake you could always just tack weld flat pieces together

WTF does a guy do to get banned from a freaking garage forum site? lol Good Lord!
Usually it's personal attacks, more than once and after being warned a time or two. That's the typical reason anyway. I have no idea what happened with Elroy, I don't get into Free Parking much at all, but I always enjoyed the value of his posts regarding fabrication and repair.

Any tips on how to make your socket holders without a bending brake?

You could bend them around a hardwood block clamped to you bench. The bends may not be as crisp as Elroy's, but good enough.

mine is .050" 3003 aluminum held by pop rivets, yours will be fine.

I do have swapped out the socket clips with Snap On clips(dirt cheap off the truck).
