Well the first time I tried to post this it was erased and got me banned. Lets see if I can get a thread started this time. I have been browsing this site for quite some time looking at all the different ideas for garage storage. I was curious if anyone has ever tried or seen these drawers. They are called dandy drawers. They look like a good idea but I do not know or have experience with them. If someone has used them let me know how well they are made and the ease of use. Looking for some feedback.

Why would this get you banned??? As they say: "It's time for the REST of the story!" ;)

Are they selling just the trays? Obviously that is just junk wood with slits cut for the trays to go i. Don't they make the outer portions so it looks decent?

Ooops - just went to the site and they DO eexpect you to do that. I guess thye are useful in the right settings...

they look pretty cool for the back of a work bench like in the second picture, but I dont think an entire wall would be very usful unless you assembled electronic components or something similar. Whats the price on em?, I couldnt find anything except a sampler pack for $11

There really is nothing more to the story. All I did was post these drawers. From what the site says you can order the drawers in all the same color. Thought these might be nice if done right. I like the photo that shows the drawers tight to one another. Cutting slots in wood is not that hard. I could even take an old cabinet and fill it inside with these drawers.

Prices are on this page http://www.dandydrawers.com/Drawers.htm

Took this info from their site.
Dandy-12 For 12 inch boards 7-3/4 x 11 x 2-7/8
Dandy-10 For 10 inch boards 5-3/4 x 9 x 2
Dandy-8 For 8 inch boards 4-7/16 x 7-3/16 x 1-1/2
All dimensions are inside dimensions
6-Pack 12-Pack 24-Pack
Dandy-12 $21.50 $39.95 $73.95
Dandy-10 $16.95 $30.50 $56.50
Dandy-8 $12.50 $18.95 $32.95
Drawer colors: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and White - 1 color per pack.

I thought this might interest some people here looking for storage ideas. Small parts, I know bins and metal storage cabinets can get costly. Just was curious if anyone had used them. If no one has just sharing an idea I came across.

Have some very similar that also slide in a saw kerf.

35 years ago I was studying injection molding parameters with various polycarbonate resins on a new machine and molded ~400 of these. They are fixed divider but I find them quite useful for nut, bolt and small parts storage.

The lips that act as slides don't look reinforced in any way shape or form. I'm under the impression that may be extremely weak, or perhaps may become brittle with time leading to failure. Just an observation, but I wouldn't put too much in them, and make sure that whatever you do put is free of contaminants that could eat the plastic.

hhhmmmm....Gives me an idea. I can get an unlimted amount of plastic trays from work. They are about 12"x18" and 3" deep. They have a half inch lip all the way around. Would work great for drawers like this.

Not a bad idea, I found some bulk cake pans. I could make drawers out of those. Put handles on the front, make a wood frame with slots for lip on pan, would make excellent storage.
