Custom tablesaw, hand made or bought?

Did a farmstead cleanout and came across this very cool old tablesaw. Has anyone ever seen one sold like this, or do you think it's a custom home made? Either way, I cant see it pitched, pretty sure its gonna get just a small amount of clean/modification and become my living room coffee table.

It's a woodworking bench that someone installed a motor and blade inside. Custom home made.

X2, it's a very old woodworking bench in which someone kluged up a table saw. Can't tell from the photos, but if the bench was in decent original condition, it might have been worth serious bucks. It is to be hoped the table saw incursion didn't seriously damage it.

It may have been a DIY kit from an old Montgomery Ward-type catalog. Looks like the blade is on the wrong way though.

Might be more of a winter project, but I'll try and post up some more pics as I clean it and put some sealant on it. The galvanized tin storage box on the left hand side of it made me wonder if it was a sawdust catch, or just blade and tool storage? Kinda weird that it was galvanized tin tho. Found it in a corn crib, so it was covered, but not totally protected from the elements all these years.

my first thought was it was probably a motor and arbor for a grinder someone turned into a saw, but then I noticed the handwheel.

I think this is a DIY kit. no way that is a woodworking bench converted; no where near beefy enough, wrong type wood, wrong construction, etc. with the metal cross rods and hardware, it really looks like a kit where you supplied your own wood. common to see those advertised in old PM mags, along with bandsaws and drill presses made from pipe and plywood.

Definitely homemade. But keep in mind that people were smarter back then unlike our current crop of young people. They built cars from spare parts, planes from wood, cloth, and paint. And didn't watch alot of TV.
