I just picked up a new to me Pelican/Hardigg IM2400 case (think normal pelican case, but different). My old technician's case is getting pretty long in the tooth. I plan on putting pallet hardware in the case, it is pretty much identical in size to the 1520, which comes in a "palletized" version (1520T-CB for those interested).
It seems the only mainstream maker of tool pallets is Platt, and I've never been a fan really, even though they are what I have used for quite some time. They're rather cheap and flimsy, and generally not very enjoyable, even though they work for my needs.
I wish that a company like Occidental leather made tool pallets, I'd like something that I can say "Damn, that's nice" every time I open my case. I'm getting VERY close to just buying a heavy duty sewing machine and start making some myself.
Has anyone heard of anyone that makes custom tool pallets? I suppose a saddlemaker could probably do a pretty nice job.
