Cut feet?

With the recent discussion on slick floors, cut feet, etc, my Labor Day weekend project with our garage has me concerned if the silica additive I planned will prevent above from happening? I have Rustoleum Pro in hand but am not sure on what to add to prevent a too slick surface yet easily bare foot friendly.

No floor is slip proof. Wet floors can be slick with almost any product. The silica additive is a good idea but how much silica additive are you using over what size area. Also what size silica additive?

I used the Shark Grip additive with the Rutoleum Pro on my floor and am very happy with the results. It has good anti-slip properties but is not rough to the touch. If you have a Sherwin Williams dealer near you they usually have display samples that will give you an idea of what it feels like. You can also buy it at Lowe's. I used less than the suggested amount (about 1/2 I think) and it turned out great. Just be sure to stir the epoxy or clear every so often to keep the additive from settling to the bottom of the bucket / tray.

Anti slip is good when approximately 60-80% of the granules are covered by the coating. The size of the granules and the dry thickness of the coating should be matched up by the manufacturers.

I would be far less worried about cut feet than slipping and falling. We used rust oleum pro and some gator grip in top clear. IIRC approx 3 little 8?oz bottles and it is still unsafe when wet IMO. Definitely recommend a more aggressive material or more of it if I did it again.

I had it on the garage floor at my last house and never liked it........was hard on the mops and hard to sweep.........and it didn't help at all with any snow on the floor.

Soft Skid, Anti-skid Additive

Is the Soft Skid, Anti-skid Additive by Legacy Industry any better? Apparently they claim that their tabular alumina is more soft?

What I understand about tabular alumina is that it is manufactured to be rounded.

This is the best advice to the posting member. We had down water based stain and mixed 1/2 MFG recommended amount in the top clear coat and it was perfect for our kids and was not hard to clean with blower. MAKE SURE TO STIR EVERY NOW AND THEN!!!!!! If you do not it will settle to the bottom of the can or paint tray and will cause the topcoat to be milky in appearance. We also applied 4 coats of floor wax with a micro cloth and it took away a little of the roughness but still had plenty of slip resistance.
