Cut-in Early?

Thanks to everyone at The Garage Journal and the wealth of information and advice you provided, I am the proud owner of an (Uninstalled) Epoxy-Coat kit. The plan is to put it down tomorrow morning at 10:00. I have one remaining question: Is it possible to cut-in the floor tonight and pour the rest tomorrow? I would mix a small batch and paint the edges at about 8:00 pm and then follow the instructions for the rest of the floor tomorrow morning.

What do you think?

Special thanks to Christine at Epoxy-Coat for her help and guidance.

You are very welcome Cabguy. I think you can do the cutting in in advance. Keep in mind you can only mix a small portion at a time (the more dense the product is, the faster it will harden). I would recommend after mixing, pouring it into a shallow paint tray. I also think, unless you have a ton of cutting in to do, it should be fine to do it as you go.

Thanks Christine.

A couple more questions: For spike shoes, will old golf shoes work? And can anyone tell me what the working time is for Epoxy-Coat? Is it 15 minutes or longer?

Thanks again.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure I agree. The pre cut edges will look different then the rest of the floor. Epoxy just doesn't blend well with pre cured epoxy. Just find another helping hand to help when applying. My 2 cents
