I picked this up today;

They had a home made stand with it,

I paid $100 for that setup and about 300# of scrap. It is a makita 2414 and it seems to be fairly old.
I was wondering how yall would proceed with the stand / work surface. Would you just clean it up, reinforce weld and fix those that have broke or start over just use the metal from this one for parts. I am thinking of the latter and making one center stand to hold the chop saw and a stand for either side that I can position at will and to use as material support.
If I went that route how big would you make the center portion?
Feedback appreciated,

I'd remove the saw from that long deck and use whatever you need to support your material. A lot depends upon what kind of work you want to do.

Don't expect too much from that saw and don't overwork it......they go up in smoke very easily.

Another, just like the one I had....and yes it did go up in smoke, and not working that hard in my opinion.
