cut through electric cable!!

I cut through an electric cable with a skillsaw, now the saw won't work. any ideas? what would break? the breaker tripped but something must have shorted out in the saw.

I don't know what model/ brand you have. Perhaps there is a fuse inside it.

Are you plugging the saw into an outlet on the wire you just cut in half?

No surprise... if it was the saw cord you cut through.

Did you re-attach the saw power cord before plugging it in?

Usually, a cut like that doesn't harm the saw. The worst you get is a burn in the blade where it cut the power wire.
Recheck everything. Does the saw turn freely by hand with no power to it? Is the cord damaged in any way?
