A couple years ago I got in on the group buy we had going on here on the cut50 and it has ran flawless for me. Earlier today I bit the bullet and ordered a small cnc table. Is there anyway I can use this Chinese contraction on the table? I'm sure somebody has had to try just haven't had any luck googling. I'm fairly dumb when it comes to this but just getting a little frustrated with lack of info I've found. So any idea how I can get a CPC port wired onto this thing?

I already know the "buy a hypertherm" responses are coming but I already HAVE this little plasma and between building a jeep and buying the table I'm trying to stay cheap as this is just a hobbyish table.

thanks

If its hf start you're better off selling it. I had an Eastwood versa cut60 when I built my machine that was hf. I sold it and bought a Hypertherm. The only thing worse than spending $7k on a cnc table was spending $7k on it and having it not work. I didn't take that chance.

The PM65 has been flawless for over 2 years now. I don't regret it one bit.

Sell it or give it away and get a Hypertherm... nothing else compares...

I think the cut50 only have a 2 pin on/off connector... if you look at some of the thread of people converting the PM30 to CNC(I think I saw a few thread years ago), it would be similar.... Don't know anything else about CNC...

I converted a PM30 to CNC use, not recommended but it worked... BUT that is a blowback start not HF, HF will play havoc with the CNC controls and stepper drivers... you don't want that!

I kind of figured I was screwed especially after reading about the HF frequencies. Thanks for reassuring me haha

HF will play havoc with controls. However it can be done. HF is fairly easy to shield against. Plan on shielding all the wires, the controllers, put the plasma itself as far away from everything as possible, and build a faraday cage around it.

It can be done. Overall it is a pain and I'm with most people who say buy the right tool.

Thanks! Let us know how you like it. I'd say keep the cut50 for those small quick jobs and buy a PM 65 or something for the table.

I'd Ditch the Cut 50 altogether. and get a PM65 that comes with the Hand Torch and Machine Torches... then use it for both.. You won't be disappointed!

I’ll probably end up giving it to my dad or something. I’m limited on room already!

The table is a few months out still but once I figure it out I’ll let y’all know my thoughts.
