I'm thinking it goes a lot deeper than tools..we are all hard working folks, that want the best value for our hard earned dollars, most feeling that's just not the way it is anymore. In my short 60 years, things seem to be worse, except for my Snap-on ****, and Chevys :lol_hitti Can we change the subject?

My gawd, look at those *******, Vote for Earl

^^^^^ What happens to a HF fanboy when the words "Harbor Freight *****", "buy quality tools" or "Snap-On" are posted on GJ.

Ummmm, that's Craftsman, not Craftsmen ( those are the guys that did my hardwood and tile floors) and you could NOT care less. Because the way you wrote it ,your argument really has no validity whatsoever.

I always get it mixed up. I just went to craftsmen.com looking for an air compressor an hour ago

We don't have harbor freight here but Princess auto is pretty much teh same thing. There are some things I just won't buy there but I find it good for things that would otherwise be out of reach. I bought a 20ton press, pipe bender, sandblaster, that sort of stuff. I also have a grinder stand and steel bench from there that I am really happy with.

Is it 11,000 piss poor, no benefits paying jobs? Maybe the managers are getting a decent wage. I'll take channelock over HF **** anytime.

Lol.. Your math is , I won't support 11,000 jobs that sell something from overseas, cause I'm making a better contribution to society supporting 500 jobs (in one state) cause they make ****** American pliers instead??? :lol_hitti

Let me tell you, HF cutting/t & g pliers are JUNK. JUNK JUNK JUNK.. I'd rather support 500 skilled trade jobs than 11000 register jockeys.

Well I guess you don't own any channellock diagonal cutters, cause they are just as horrible.. $13 on sale for 8" cutters that are "made in the USA". Where do you think they are skimping to hit that price point.. There is NOTHING at all special about anything made by Channellock. NOTHING..

Like life, buying tools is a balancing act.

Some tools you pay top dollar for, and expect a lifetimes use. If they fail, then you hope you can flag down the tool truck driver.

Some tools you buy cheap, and hope they get the task at hand done. If they don't, no problem as you're not out to much.

There is room for both.

Haven't you been paying attention? It's clear that if you buy tool trucks you will lose your job and end up on the street corner, I believe there is a pictorial a few posts up. If you buy cheap tools they will break at the thoughts of touching a rusted fastener.

Please try and Keep up.

I'm from the school of using whatever tool gets the job done. I use Snap-On as well as HF and both have their place. If money were no object I'd have a lot more Snap-On, Stahlwille, Gedore, Hazet, than I do.

For the most part my HF tools get the job done but they aren't really that exciting to use.

It's hard to believe that we're starting another year of arguing about this stuff. :wtf: I wish we had a dedicated HF sub-forum and a dedicated Snap-On sub-forum. Neither side is ever going to agree.

Guys Im the OP and I never intended for a huge fight to break out - my genuine intention was to have people go "****, ya know what, the name brand made in china hand tools that Im buying at home depot and lowes at a 50% markup really arent all that much better than HF comparisons."

Im not saying power tools.

We are all being duped by the name brands putting their name on chinese ****.

**** load of Wiha in a HF box...lol...

Even bigger **** load of Snap On in a HF cart...

Couldn't resist... :lol_hitti:lol_hitti

Now you've really created a dilemma for everyone -
1. Does the Snap On guy get pissed about the HF box?
2. Does the HF guy get pissed about the Snap On tools?
3. Does the Wiha/Euro tools guy get pissed about the HF box?
4. Does the HF guy get pissed about the Wiha tools?
5. Do the Snap On and HF guys gang up on the Wiha/Euro tool guys?
6. Do the Snap On and Wiha guys gang up on the HF guys?
7. Do the HF and Wiha guys gang up on the Snap On guys?
8. Or does it turn into a free-for-all cluster ****?
:dunno:

Questions, more and more questions.

And fwiw, I have a 72" HF box on it's way.......gonna fill it with Wera's, Wright, Snap, and Mac.....

I believe you but unfortunately these threads never end with members "around a campfire singing Kumbaya". Just the nature of the forum and tool junkies.

Don't let it bother you. If looked at the right way it can provide entertainment on boring, cold, winter nights like tonight.
