DA Sanding Disk Source

I am planning to order a new Dynabrade R/O sander and I was curious if anyone had any good online sources for either 6" pressure sensitive (PSA) or hook & loop (velcro) sanding disks (or even Dynabrade sanders themselves?) I am trying to decide if I should get a sander with dust collection capabilities or not and I am not sure about the difference in price / availability of various grits, attachment, and sanding holes. Any info or ideas would be a great help.

That paper is very inexpensive. Not saying its not good, but I have tried many of the inexpensive DA sheets and air file papers, from canadian, german, usa makers, etc, and still find that they dont last nearly as long, or cut nearly as well as good Norton and 3M paper does.

I would highly recommend getting "hookit" style discs and a hookit backing pas, so if you want to switch discs to a different grit, you dont waste an otherwise still useable sheet.

I would look into a local auto body jobber, and see what they stock. You can find Norton and 3M online a bit cheaper, but I like to support my local jobber. As a hobbyist, they treat me with as much respect as a full time body shop, and they are there to answer all of my questions, and are really great to deal with, so I give them my business.

fastleft - I am curious.. what are you planning on doing with the sander ? Which one are you looking at ? and why a dynabrade ?

Well.. I could say alot on this topic about sandpaper.. but I'll say this - the hookit or hookit 2 pads are spendy so.. PSA looks better when it comes to the dollar signs. However.. I think you wont find very fine grit sand paper in PSA.

The pads are expensive, however, if you dont use them everyday as a pro, and are respectful of them, they will last a long time.
