I thought I would post this for dad since I did help design it. After selling their home downstate, dad needed a place for all his goodies at the lakehouse. This is a 28'x44', stick built to store the boats, wood tools and a scrapbooking room for mom.

The two large doors are 12'0" wide and the single door is a standard 7'0" door. There is a full second floor, with a shed dormer across the entire back.

Re: Dads new garage

for this year, it will just stay framed. He has hung a number of lights and got the power turned on Monday (9/30). As for future, the single door space at the right is partitioned off. This room is getting completely finished. Its going to be a scrap booking room for mom. It has a large double set of windows out the back, which looks right on to the Huron Nation Forest. Not anyone back there for a few hundred thousand acres or so!

Very nice build! I'm sure your parents will enjoy the space.

Out of all of those beautiful trees surrounding the garage....what is so important about the one in front of the garage door?

There is NO importance with it. There is / was however a serious pucker factor. He cut down another one back further (about where the garage corner actually is) and contrary to his aiming, nearly took out the power lines. Power company actually had to come out so he thinks it knocked it loose. He figured that he would have to pay someone to drop it either way, might as well wait and see if it truly needs to go.

Its mostly for looks, but there is a wall on that end. It will be used exclusively for storage. The rest of the upper part will be a shop or even finished for sleeping at some point.

I will send you the plans if you want. I drew them up.

Me too. Been in SA for a while and moved to New Braunfels almost a year ago. Love it!

...The barn is in Michigan.

Judson High School alumni here! I miss San Antonio so much, but I love having the four seasons here in Ohio.

As for the garage being in Michigan I had no idea! I've seen tree lines like that in New Braunfels - the Schlitterbahn area comes to mind.

After this summer, Dad was able to get Moms room completed. As indicated before, this is in the far right space, partitioned off from the rest of the garage. Of course she's happy, which makes him happy. Other two doors are just plain summer toy storage, nothing fancy.
