So tonight I was over at my parents and as I was rummaging through my dads old Craftsman box I found a good amount of old Snap On wrenches, flare nut wrenches, and some impact sockets. When I went inside and joked about my dad having more SO stuff than me, that's when he told me about his 1/4 and 3/8 standard set with ratchets he had in another box. Pretty awesome stuff considering my grandpa bought that set for him brand new for Christmas back in 1958. I will have to snap some pictures next time I am out there.

passing down the golden tools is what really counts. you just don't get that vibe from any other brand of tool.

snap on customer service frowns apon this though :(

As far as Snap-on customer service, I'm sure if you sent in one or two broken tools to Snap-on without a receipt, you could get your tools warrantied. It's the guys who send in boxes worth of rusty, broken flea market **** that they want to crack down on.

I mean seriously, how many tools does the average user break? I know I don't break hardly any.

Tools mean alot more when passed down. I have a few and will end up with all of them from both sides. These will all go to my son if he wants them, that don't seem a problem so far at 6yrs.

That's very cool. Definitely show an interest in those tools so your Dad will know that you would like them to be passed down to you. It's great to keep some things in the family, means alot.

I'm starting to have that discussion with my father, just to let him know I place value on some of his stuff. Course, he will be around for a while yet, I hope! (have to be patient)
