Daikin Ductless - ID this part

OK, I got one of these units up and installed this weekend. However, I'll be darned to figure out what this particular part is. I must be missing it in the manuals. Resembles some sort of filter, but I'm not sure for what... Any ideas?

Clips on the main, larger filters.

This optional air-puriifying filter is used in addition to the filter included on Daikin mini-split systems. With its photocatalytic deodorizing function, this air purifying filter is able to trap microscopic particles, decompose odors and even remove bacteria and deactivate viruses. It features a large active surface area that effectively cleans the high volumes of air required to air-condition your rooms. The filter delivers consistent performance for approximately 3 years if regular washing (with water) is performed about every 6 months.

This filter is not a medical device. The benefits of absorption and decomposition of bacteria are only effective for substances that are collected on and in direct contact with the Air-Purifying Filter with Photocatalytic Deodorizing Function. It is for use with Daikin ductless mini-split systems that use wall-mounted indoor units.

You must have got the deluxe model. I did not get them with my Daikins.

I dunno if they're deluxe. The other half made me buy the heat-pump variety.
Anyway, these just "clip on" the existing filters... Pretty obvious once I pull those existing filters off. Thanks for the help.

Some codes in health care facilities require outside air venting all the time. This may take the place of that outside air requirement. I have run into this on PTAC units that were required to run all the time and also to have the vent blocked open. Since a mini split does not have outside air vents they may have purified the air with this filter to meet code.
