With an L5 error code and not much knowledge, finding little on the net, I was kinda dead in the water. I suspected it was the PC board, but could not verify a bad PC. I have 2 Daikin 9K btu 15 series units and thought why not swap the PC boards! It took a while to get around to doing it and the weather has been cool but the problem followed the board!

Or do I have a new problem in this mini, nah, can't be. LOL

One of our Daikins just threw a U4 (I think) code... can't communicate with main unit. Weve barely used it.

Are these things problematic?

Daikin is #3 in the US, they sell millions of units a year. We only see the people here who have problems! I have had issues with 2 of my 3 Daikins so looking at a 66% failure rate!

Daikin is as good as the others, what I have an issue with is the incompetant, scumbag AC ripoff people who infest the industry. If you find a good tech, treat em right, send Xmas cards, compliment their kids, buy them lunch.

Someday I will get back to this and today is some day. I am 99.5% sure I have a bad PC board. A web search shows that no new boards for the RXN09NMVJU only used are available. Not buying used.

Ordered a new board from selling dealer $275 + $42 shipping. Board is under warranty, by time I get Daikin tech here and replace board would be hundreds of dollars.

One thing leads to another, I have been toying with this unit for months. I really am in waaay over my pay grade here. I have 3 in the house so 1 not working is not a big deal. I have the new board in hand and will likely get to it this afternoon. I looked over the old board and see nothing obviously wrong with it. Learned something new, heat transfer grease/compound that needs to be used. 1675692911718.png
